Aakriti Art Gallery is one of the most vibrantly active venues of art in Kolkata, India. Aakriti Art Gallery is located at Picasso Bithi (Hungerford Street) Kolkata. Its exhibits range from works of artists who are groundbreaking contemporary visionaries, young upcoming talents or historical masters. Aakriti Art Gallery was founded in the year 2005, has more than 1000 works in its collection which are put on display by rotation. The primary activity of this gallery is to promote the young and upcoming talents. Aakriti Art Gallery provides contemporary, modern, sculpture and deals. The famous artist in  Aakriti Art Gallery is Suchibrata Deb, founder member of Painters’ Orchestra’, established in 1968 in Kolkata. He has participated in various national exhibitions and group shows since 1964 at Kolkata, Santiniketan, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, which includes group show ‘Indigenous Modernity Various Trends’ curated by Mrinal Ghosh at Aakriti Art Gallery, Kolkata, 2007.

The previous exhibitions are Progress of Non-Abstract Geometry Image and Symbol: Painters’ Perception, Image and Symbol: Sculptors’ Perception, Lightness of being Anxious, not so long ago and SATISH GUJRAL – Paintings & Sculptures. Aakriti believes in representing a broad spectrum of visual language, style and concepts for reaching out to arts community and beyond. The cuurent exhibition by “Tapas Biswas” displayed his sculptures based on the theme called Inscriptions in Bronze from 26th June – 25th July 2010. The next exhibition going to be held from 5th August – 28th August 2010 about “Transcending the Popular”. Aakriti Art Gallery also provides an art shop at the Aakriti premises on Hungerford Street. It has masses along with Books, Catalagues, Magazines and Monographs on individual artists. It also stocks mouse pads, coasters, coffee mugs, note books, diaries etc, all of them reproduced from a signature painting of the artist.
