The much awaited air connectivity to Mysore has materialized. Kingfisher commenced its services from Mysore today, providing air connectivity to several other Indian cities via Bangalore.
Airport started buzzing with activity from early morning hours. Kingfisher counter was first inaugurated by an official, Mr Satyanarayan and Mrs Nalini, who were the first passengers on Mysore-Bengaluru flight were greeted with an oversized boarding pass. We’re flying just for the experience of it, time and money wasn’t a consideration-Mrs Nalini told media. Few other passengers also expressed similar intentions, saying they’re flying purely to encourage the industry.
Cultural programs like DoLLu Kunita and few other forms of folk dance were organized
VVIPs arrived by about 1PM- the battalion included CM BSY, Vijay Mallya, Sidharamaiah and passengers and officials. Upon arrival, they went outside the airport to attend some dalit gathering outside the airport in a shamiana. After that, they were supposed to come back and hold a press conference, but they chose to board the return flight directly instead, which was waiting for them and already delayed by more than 45 minutes.
Here’re a few snaps of UB group owner Vijay Mallya and Karnataka CM BS Yadiyurappa
Later, it was time for group photos: Kingfisher team and Brandworkx team below:

Whirling Kalapas is going to be held at Kyra Theatre, Bengaluru on September 24th 2010 by 7p.m.
Whirling Kalapas is the acoustic- band created by Mahesh Tinaikar and Uday Benegal, the guitar player and singer of the trailblazing rock band Indus Creed.
Jai Row Kavi, Kenneth Rebello and Sankarshan ‘Shanks’ Kini make up the rest of the outfit. Their music is an unusual take on an array of things—past hits, new songs, obscure tunes by artists they really like, and then some…
With Indus Creed, Uday and Mahesh toured the world, including the USSR, the Middle East and Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festival in Reading, UK, to name a few. They also won a bunch of awards, including an Asia-wide MTV Video Music Award for their song “Pretty Child,” and shared the stage with Bon Jovi, playing to more than 40,000 people in Bombay.
In 1996, MTV flew down Guns ’N Roses guitarist Slashto play live with Indus Creed in Bangalore. They were also the first non-Western band about whom MTV produced a “Rockumentary.”
Uday moved to New York in 1999, where he started his multiculti Indo–rock and funk band Alms For Shanti. AFS scorched through NYC’s club circuit and played at various festivals and clubs in North America and India. Uday moved back to Bombay in 2008.
Whirling Kalapas was born in 2009 when Uday and Mahesh regrouped after more than 10 years. The pair that wrote such seminal hits as “Rock ‘n’ Roll Renegade” and “Pretty Child” are back. The music scene in India will be the richer for it.
Members:
Uday Benegal – Vocals, Guitar
Mahesh Tinaikar – Guitar, Vocals
Kenneth Rebello – Bass, Vocals
Ashwin Andrew – Drums, Vocals
Sankarshan Kini – Mandolin, Violin, Percussion, Vocals
And occasionally Zubin Balaporia on keyboards
